OPD Services / Equipment:
1. Autorefractometer: This device measures the refractive error of the eye, which is used to determine a person's prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses.
2. Slit Lamp Biomicroscope: This instrument allows the doctor to examine the eye under high magnification with a beam of light. It is used to diagnose most of the conditions,
involving anterior segment of eye.
3. Indirect Ophthalmoscope: This device allows the doctor to see a wide view of the inside of the eye, including the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels. It is used to diagnose a variety of eye conditions involving posterior segment of eye, such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal  detachment, and macular degeneration.
4. Direct Ophthalmoscope: This is a handheld instrument that allows the doctor to see a more limited view of the inside of the eye. It is used to quickly assess the health of the retina and optic nerve.
5. A-scan: This device uses ultrasound waves to measure the length of the eye. This measurement is important for calculating the appropriate intraocular lens (IOL) power for cataract surgery.
6. Non-contact tonometer: This instrument measures the pressure inside the eye (intraocular pressure). IOP is an important risk factor for glaucoma.
7. Visual acuity chart & trial lens set: This instrument measures visual acuity. It used to detect refractive error & prescribe appropriate spectacle correction.

Surgeries available:
l. Phacoemulsification cataract surgery: This is the most common type of cataract surgery with a very small incision(<2.5 mm). It uses ultrasound waves to break up a cloudy lens (cataract) in the eye and then suction out the pieces. A new artificial lens is then implanted to restore vision. This can
lead to faster healing and a quicker recovery time.
2. Small incision cataract surgery: Procedure is used when cataract is very dense to be broken down by phacoemulsification. It uses a 6-7 mm scleral incision to remove cataractous lens enmass.
3. Pterygium excision surgery with Fibrin glue: A pterygium is a growth of tissue on the conjunctiva (the white part of the eye) that can grow onto the cornea (the clear front part of the eye). Pterygium excision surgery removes this growth. Fibrin glue is a type of biological glue that can be used to help seal the wound after surgery.
4. Chalazion excision: A chalazion is a bump on the eyelid that is caused by a blockage in an oil gland. Chalazion excision surgery removes the chalazion.
5. SFIOL implantation: SFIOL stands for Scleral Fixated lntraocular Lens. This type of lens implant is used in patients with aphakia(absence of crystalline lens) with absence of capsular bag for IOL support.
6. Corneal tear repair surgery: This surgery repairs a tear in the cornea. The cornea is the clear front part of the eye that covers the iris and pupil. A corneal tear can be caused by a scratch, injury, or infection.
7. Entropion & ectropion correction: Abnormalities of I ides where lid margin turns inward or outward. Surgery to correct misalignment done.
8. Squint surgery: Imbalance of extraocular muscles causing one eye to move inward or outward. Affected muscles are resected or recessed to bring alignment.
